We all share the same passion: guiding your child to reach their full potential and thus preparing the next generation for the world of tomorrow. Your child spends a large part of their day with us. That is why we place a lot of importance on an open and trusting relationship between school and home, giving you the confidence to rely on us.
We look forward to getting to know you.

Pre-Kindergarten Teacher
My role is to foster a life-long love of learning in the curious minds of our students. That is why I encourage creativity, embrace imagination, and celebrate individuality, all aimed at helping develop a happy and fulfilled child. The sum of learning and acquiring new skills through play, fun, kindness, and respect makes Pre-Kindergarten a special place.
Kindergarten Teacher
Every child is different and needs support accordingly. I love singing with the children and find this an excellent way to introduce them to the German language. I have been interested in children's language acquisition since I was a student and find working in the bilingual area particularly exciting.
Kindergarten Teacher
Seeing the world through the eyes of children is fascinating. My focus lies on the uniqueness of each child, with all its abilities and needs.
Lakeside School enables me to be a companion for my students with a lot of heart and to support the natural curiosity as well as the learning processes of the children with individual and creative teaching methods.
Kindergarten Teacher
I appreciate young children’s playful, imaginative ways, their natural enthusiasm for learning, and their capacity for curiosity and wonder. I enjoy working with children from various cultural backgrounds, creating a caring environment and supporting each child to achieve their personal best.
Our beautiful early years setting means that playing and learning can happen indoors and outdoors, with lots of opportunities for children to discover, explore, and learn using all their senses.
Kindergarten Teacher
Having taught the British national curriculum, Swiss Lehrplan 21 and the International Primary Years Programme, I can particularly appreciate the special bilingual learning environment at Lakeside School.
I love forming relationships with students and parents as well as finding the different ways that young children can express themselves creatively. This stems from a belief that the early years of life are crucial for establishing the social, emotional and creative building blocks that can last a lifetime.
Primary Teacher Grade 1 & 2
In addition to the immense joy of participating in the development of reading, writing and arithmetic, I also consciously focus on developing life skills. It is enriching to engage in personal, social, and systemic learning to build, for example, sensory awareness, attention, self-regulation, acceptance, compassion, and community-based engagement. Training these socio-emotional skills expands expressive and cognitive abilities.
Primary Teacher Grade 1 & 2
Engaging students in a variety of learning experiences that challenge their ideology, heighten curiosity, and initiate critical thinking skills is important to developing every child’s independence and creativity. I strive to enable each individual student to create a positive mindset and sense of self, fostering their ability to develop resilience and determination towards their learning as well as their ability to continue being life-long learners.
I am passionate about educational technology, enabling students to ask questions to seek their own answers, and fostering self-belief, confidence, and responsibility.
Primary Teacher Grade 3 & 4
In an exhibition of the artist Olafur Eliasson, I discovered the "Little Sun" solar lamp. I saw this object as a symbol of the principle of education, which the following quote puts perfectly: "Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire" (W.B. Blake). Igniting the spark of curiosity for cooperative skill and knowledge acquisition motivates me in the classroom every day.
Different cultures and multilingualism of families, students, and the team are what I value most in my work as a teacher at Lakeside School.
Primary Teacher Grade 3 & 4
Learning should always be engaging and fun for students. Learning goals should be clear and attainable for all learning levels. I value open communication between home and school and strive to give each student individual attention, as well as specific, targeted feedback about their academic and social competencies.
I enjoy sharing my passion for writing with my students and am delighted to watch their literacy skills grow and develop.
Teaching in a bilingual setting is both challenging and rewarding, and I love to spend my days in such a diverse environment with children from various backgrounds and cultures.
Primary Teacher Grade 5 & 6
"You do not just teach, you inspire" is what I strive for in the classroom. I approach each child individually and offer opportunities to gain learning experiences in different ways. Using different learning methods and learning settings, I want to enable the children to bring out the best in themselves.
I appreciate the family environment at Lakeside School, the great team, and the open communication with short decision-making processes.
Primary Teacher Grade 5 & 6
Learning through collaboration and encouraging progress through individualisation is the cornerstone of my teaching. As a result of my passion for Science, Math and Language, my pupils have the opportunity to engage with various topics in meaningful and creative ways.
Working with a close-knit and multi-talented team at Lakeside School allows me to deliver my best work every day.
Primary Teacher - French
The most important thing about teaching and learning French is not acquiring the knowledge but using the language in everyday life. During my work, I have noticed the solidarity of children and how much they help each other. This leads to the strong and constructive class dynamic I appreciate so much.
Primary teacher - EAL, music, physical education
Being part of the dynamic community as both a teacher and school leader is a privilege. The guiding principles that we foster match my own philosophy, allowing me to work alongside students and my team with the best of local values and a global outlook at the same time.
I strive to share my drive for learning and hope through targeted communication and an eye for the bigger picture to make a difference in my students’ lives.
Digital Learning Coordinator & ICT Support
For many years, I have been fascinated by the interplay between technology and pedagogy. The focus should always be on the learning process while technology takes over a supportive role.
I am happy to support Lakeside School in this endeavour.
Student Support Coordinator & DAZ
Classroom teaching and supplemented support lessons is the ideal combination for me. My own bilingualism is of great value. I support all students individually and help them reach their full potential. In the spirit of Galileo Galilei: "You cannot teach anyone anything, you can only help them to find it within themselves."
I have had the privilege of teaching and developing at Lakeside School for more than ten years. The bilingual teaching, the familiar environment, and the cooperation with competent teachers have impressed me until today.
Primary Teacher - Drama
In the Drama and Performing Arts classroom, we cultivate the cognitive skills of language, speech, communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and quick decision-making. We regularly perform for an internal audience of peers and biannually for the whole Lakeside School community.
Collaborative teamwork is celebrated, expected, and encouraged in a supportive, engaging, and fully inclusive environment.
Primary Teacher - Design & Technology (DT)
The subject Crafts, Design, Technology gives the children the opportunity to understand how things work in everyday life and how they are made. I like to pass on my fascination for technology and design to students and enable them to develop and implement their own ideas. What could be greater than designing your own world, right?
Primary Teacher - PE
Sport is essential for a person’s health. It is important to offer the students a wide range of sports activities and to help them enjoy moving around. At the same time, the sports lessons should support the students’ development in a performance-oriented yet supportive way. With my polysportive abilities and experience in professional sports, I design physical education lessons to suit each and every student.
Day Care, Teaching Assistant
It is fascinating how each child has its own strengths and weaknesses and how they develop together despite different cultural backgrounds and languages. That's what makes my work so exciting. I enjoy supporting the children, comforting them, laughing with them, and accompanying them on their way.
Day Care, Teaching Assistant
I have worked at Lakeside School for over a decade, and my pleasure is still as strong as the day I first arrived. I strive to make each child happy and secure and ensure they enjoy looking forward to the next day with myself and my fabulous team.
Day Care, Teaching Assistant
I strive to model respect, patience and care for the children I come in contact with. Attending to the basic needs of children comes naturally to me and my friendly nature makes it easy to make them feel safe and welcome, eventually winning their trust and love. Embracing diversity is particularly important to me and Lakeside School honors this.
Day Care, Teaching Assistant
I approach each child with attention and warmth, accompanying, supporting and sharing-in their own experiences. It is important for them to feel safe, seen and accepted. In doing so, I cultivate joyful, respectful and loving interactions.
School Secretary
What I like most about my role at Lakeside School is just how multi-faceted it is. No two days are ever the same at Lakeside School and the richness of interaction with colleagues, parents, and above all, the children make it truly a supportive and collaborative environment.
Head of Operations & Deputy Head of School
I always focus on the development of each child’s full potential. Accompanying them over their school years is a joy! Combining the needs of individual families from different cultures is a daily challenge that fulfils and motivates me again and again. Caretaker
Working as a janitor is very versatile and gives me a lot of freedom in planning and execution. I particularly enjoy large projects where cooperation with various craftsmen is important.
I enjoy sharing the workday with the children at our school.
