Lakeside School Küsnacht
Melanie Thomson has been involved in the education sector in Spain, the UK and Switzerland since 1991. After receiving her TESOL certificate to teach English as a second language, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education at Sheffield Hallam University, UK. She grew up in a bilingual home in Switzerland and the UK, and has taught from pre-nursery to adults, gaining valuable experience in bilingual teaching environments. She spent five years as the director of a British summer school in Madrid, and has written and taught professional development courses for teachers in Spain. She taught musical initiation to Kindergarten children, set-up and ran a music playgroup in 2001 and an international playgroup in 2003. After moving to Switzerland, she joined the team at Lakeside School Küsnacht in August 2006. Since 2008 she has been the Division Head of the Kindergarten, as well as the Pre-Kindergarten from 2017. In August 2018 she took on the role of the Deputy Head of School
Jasmin Liechti schloss im 2008 die Ausbildung zur Kindergartenlehrperson mit Schwerpunkt Theaterpädagogik ab. Sie ist in der sonnigen Bündner Herrschaft aufgewachsen, ist aber spätestens seit einem Jahrespraktikum in einem Zürcher Waldkindergarten wind- und wetterfest. Fünf weitere Jahre unterrichtete sie in einem Kindergarten in Wollishofen. Ebenso erlangte sie Erfahrungen als Marketingassistentin in einer Elektrowerkzeugfirma und als Schulsekretärin an der Bündner Kantonsschule. Jasmin Liechti liebt das Reisen mit dem Motorrad, tanzt gerne Salsa und ist in der Freizeit viel in der Natur unterwegs. Sie unterrichtet seit August 2017 an der Lakeside School Küsnacht.
Rima Macikunas is a Canadian teacher and artist from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She moved to Switzerland with her family in 2014 and lives in a bilingual household. After completing her Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree at the University of Toronto, she travelled to Scotland to pursue her teacher training. Rima Macikunas was awarded her Post Graduate Certificate in Education in 1997 from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. Since then, she has also taken additional qualification courses to specialize in Kindergarten and Visual Arts. She has taught for several years in Canadian schools and was also the director of "Adventures in Art for Kids"- a creative arts program for children 4-12 years old. Since 2015, she has been working in Swiss bilingual schools gaining valuable teaching experience. Rima Macikunas joined Lakeside School in 2017.
Heidi Harman is English and moved to Switzerland with her husband and two children 18 years ago, where she has since acquired Swiss citizenship. Educated in the U.K., she continued her studies in Switzerland, specialising in education with young children, and obtained a Certificate in Early Years Practice in 2005. For the past 10 years Heidi Harman has been an Early Years Teacher at an international school in Zürich, teaching children between 3 and 6 years of age. She is passionate about helping children to develop in a holistic way and has taken additional qualification courses focusing on the social and emotional intelligences of young children. She has also been involved in establishing a forest school/Waldkinder programme at her previous school and is enthusiastic about how children discover and learn in natural outdoor environments. Mrs. Harman joined Lakeside School in October 2018.
Nadine Wassmer erwarb ihr Kindergartendiplom 2002 an der FHNW des Kantons Aargau. Anschliessend arbeitete sie zehn Jahre in einer aargauischen Gemeinde als Kindergärtnerin. Berufsbegleitend dazu hat sie eine Ausbildung zur IK Kinesiologin erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Das Jahr 2013 hat Frau Wassmer genutzt für die Vertiefung ihrer Sprachkenntnisse (Spanisch und Englisch) und für Reisen in entfernte Länder. Seit August 2014 unterrichtet sie an der Lakeside School Küsnacht.
