Campus Horgen

The boutique school environment for a holistic development that inspires your child

Getting to School

The Primary School and Kindergarten House are located in the center of Horgen, making it easy for children to walk to school together. Alternatively, we are easily accessible by public transport:

  • 2 minutes walk from Horgen train station
  • 10 minutes walk from Horgen Oberdorf train station
  • 10 minutes walk from the Meilen-Horgen ferry

The Kindergarten House

Every Kindergarten class has its own floor with rooms of various sizes, a kitchen and bathrooms. The Kindergarten House has a unique charm, thanks to its partial designation as a listed building. A beautiful, enclosed garden with a playground and selected equipment invites your child to play and explore.

The Primary School House

In addition to bright and spacious classrooms for each grade, our students benefit from a number of additional, smaller, group rooms.

  • Group rooms for collaborative learning
  • Music room with a large selection of instruments
  • Crafts, Design, Technology room with workbenches for textile and technical design
  • Drama room with a stage and spectator seating
  • Student support rooms for individual language and learning support in small groups

Exclusive In-House Library Access

Our students benefit from our cosy in-house library exclusively accessible to them. Once a week, the English-speaking class teacher takes the whole class to the library to read and find new books to borrow. The local German library is just a two-minute walk away and is also visited once a week by the German-speaking class teacher and students. Each class also has its own small class library, which is always accessible to students.

Plenty of Space to Play and Exercise

Our own on-site gym hall is a rare luxury for a small private school. It is equipped with everything your child needs for a physical education and even has its own climbing wall. The well-equipped playground additionally provides space for your child to play and can be partially covered if needed.

After the Bell Rings

From different sports like Kung Fu and gymnastics to coding and acting: at the end of the school day, we offer a variety of After School Clubs to further engage your children in fun and healthy activities for the mind and body.

FAQ

How does the school communicate with parents?

On the Escola app, you will find everything you need to know. If something new is uploaded, you will be notified. However, direct contact is also important to us. Teachers, school management, and office staff can all be contacted via their own email addresses. A parents' evening is held for all classes at the beginning of the school year. Once a year, parent conferences are held to discuss a child’s academic and social development. Additional parent meetings take place at any time at the request of the parents as well as the class teachers.

Are both schools’ offers equivalent?

The offer is absolutely equal and largely identical. Administration, management, and teaching staff work closely together and some are even active in both schools.
